My name is Bob Grainger and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have been keeping Tropical Fish for 35 years and for the last 5 years I have specialised in Discus.

As a dedicated hobbyist I decided to create WRG Discus, with my partner Diane, so that we could share our enthusiasm for quality discus with others. Early retirement has given us the time to expand this interest and achieve our goal of breeding discus.

Eighteen months ago I attended the Bi-Annual International Discus Show in Germany.  It was a very memorable experience, the discus were outstanding and I had the opportunity to meet top discus people.  I was lucky to find myself in the company of Jack Wattley, Cor Visser, Hans Discus, and Bernd Degen: my thanks to Walter of DPH for the introductions.  I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome, both at the show and in socialising afterwards.

After seeing the quality of the discus on display at the show, I returned to Scotland determined to have good discus. Diane and I decided to import discus from Stendker Discus, Germany, and we were really impressed with the discus we received. Since then we have been successful in breeding from this stock.
